Building Healthy, Active, and Confident Students

Our Physical Education program helps students develop the knowledge, skills, confidence, and positive habits they need to lead active and healthy lives. Through developmentally appropriate activities and instruction, students build physical literacy while learning the importance of teamwork, personal responsibility, perseverance, and respect.

Students participate in a variety of movement and physical activities designed to develop coordination, strength, flexibility, balance, endurance, and fundamental movement skills. As students progress through the program, they have opportunities to apply these skills through individual, partner, and team activities.

Our physical education instruction encourages students to:

  • Develop fundamental movement and motor skills.

  • Improve fitness, coordination, balance, flexibility, and endurance.

  • Participate safely and confidently in a variety of physical activities.

  • Understand the importance of regular physical activity and healthy choices.

  • Demonstrate teamwork, cooperation, sportsmanship, and respect.

  • Set personal goals and recognize their own progress.

  • Develop confidence and perseverance when learning new skills.

  • Build habits that support lifelong health and wellness.

Our goal is for every student to view physical activity as a positive and enjoyable part of life. Through participation, practice, and encouragement, students develop the skills and mindset to make healthy, active choices both in and outside of school.
